Tonight you'll see patchy fog develop as light winds and clear skies allow moisture to settle near the ground. Tomorrow's the real story though. A warm front's pushing north across the region, and that'll drag hot, humid air up from the southwest. By Monday afternoon Youngstown will hit 90 degrees with mostly sunny skies, then Tuesday climbs to 96. A Heat Advisory is already in effect starting at noon Monday, and those heat indices (what the temperature actually feels like when you factor in humidity) will exceed 100 degrees. There's only a slight chance of showers Tuesday morning as the front clears through, but don't count on rain to cool things down this week.

What's driving this heat wave is a classic late-June setup. High pressure is building in from the southeast while a low pressure system drags a warm front northward across the Great Lakes region. That warm front is the boundary between cool air behind it and the hot, humid air ahead of it. As it pushes north, it basically opens a door for tropical moisture and heat to flood in from the Gulf. The upper-level ridge (that river of fast air at 30,000 feet that steers weather systems) is also shifting eastward, which locks this pattern in place and keeps rain chances minimal through Thursday. Overnight lows will only drop to the low-to-mid 70s all week, meaning your air conditioner won't get much of a break.

The real question is what happens late in the week. Models are hinting that the upper-level ridge will start to break down by Friday, which could allow a shortwave (a dip in that jet stream) to move through and potentially bring thunderstorms back to the area. For now though, Youngstown's looking at a hot, dry stretch through Thursday. If you've got outdoor plans, plan for the heat and stay hydrated.
